TREOFAN
Local management acquires South African operations / Close collaboration
BOPP film manufacturer Treofan (Raunheim / Germany; www.treofan.com) has sold its South African operations to local management. Under the terms of the deal, Treofan South Africa (Pty) Ltd (Chambor Kurgersdorp / South Africa) will retain the company name and also has exclusive rights to Treofan’s intellectual property, brands and know-how. Working in close collaboration with the German headquarters, the South African company is to act as Treofan’s exclusive sales and marketing agent in Africa.
The group hopes the transaction will positively impact cash flow and reduce consolidated working capital. Treofan only recently finished restructuring its entire financial operations – see Plasteurope.com of 05.10.2009.
“This move will allow the local management to take over the business and further develop the South African market, while Treofan will maintain a preferred route to sell its products in the African region – with greater flexibility,” said Treofan group CEO Carlo Ranucci.
