TRELLEBORG
Purchase of PPL Polyurethane Products
Swedish industrial group Trelleborg (Trelleborg; www.trelleborg.com) is to acquire PPL Polyurethane Products (Retford, Nottinghamshire / UK; www.poly-products.co.uk), which produces PU-based products for the offshore oil and gas and infrastructure sectors.

PPL Polyurethane Products has annual sales of approximately SEK 90m (EUR 10m) and employs about 90 people. It manufactures products such as bend stiffeners and cable protection products for the offshore oil and gas industry and damping solutions for rail applications, Trelleborg said.

“The company has had a solid trend for both growth and profitability and in recent years it has developed attractive positions in the offshore oil/gas and infrastructure segments,” remarked Lennart Johansson, president of Trelleborg’s Engineered Systems business. The acquisition is expected to be completed during the first quarter of 2011.
