French petrochemical company TotalEnergies (Paris; www.totalenergies.com) and Germany’s Ecolab (Monheim; www.ecolab.com) have partnered to create plastic packaging that incorporates post-consumer recycled material and is said to be ideal for heavy-use packaging markets, particularly highly concentrated cleaning products.
The Maxx S range of heavy-duty products start with TotalEnergies’s rPE6314 (from the RE:use range), and combine PCR with high-performing booster resin. The product provides sustainable solutions for bottles and medium-size containers, for both solids and liquids, TotalEnergies said. “Its excellent chemical resistance, consistency, low odour and natural colour make it the best-performing, ready-to-use rHDPE grade for blow moulding applications.”
TotalEnergies launched its low-carbon polymer brand RE:clic, based on recycled material and bio-feedstocks, in October 2022. The line features three product ranges, including RE:use, which contains recycled plastics from mechanical recycling derived from post-consumer and post-industrial plastics waste.
