Tosaf said the new masterbatch “makes it possible to colour products made from it in many different bright colours without affecting the material’s special properties”.
As an alternative to cheaper PA 6.6-based masterbatches, Tafor said its PPAX range meant that high thermal stability, strength, stiffness and toughness values, low moisture absorption, and high chemical resistance were retained in coloured injection mouldings.

As with PPA, melt temperatures of up to 360°C were possible using PPAX, with no loss of finish quality. “Even higher temperatures are possible,” Tosaf said, “but must first be confirmed by the processor’s own testing. PPAX-coloured samples have demonstrated their high lightfastness and weather resistance.”
“All the colours combine elevated long-term thermal stability with an ability to withstand transient exposure to very high temperatures, for example during soldering.”
