Israeli materials specialist Tosaf (Afula; www.tosaf.com), says its pearlised ZD series masterbatches ensure uniform optical properties such as opacity and gloss over the entire width during BOPP film manufacturing. At the same time, they contribute to stable production lines and thus high productivity, the company noted.
ZD masterbatches are said to be suitable for the production of pearl-effect films in a density range of 0.55 to 0.80 g / cm³. The “ZD1738HP” grade works up to 0.65 g / cm³, and “ZD2446HP” is appropriate for medium to higher densities, Tosaf explained. Typical applications include labels and packaging for soap, confectionaries, ice cream, baked goods, candies and snacks.
Along with the standard grades, Tosaf offers white-pearlised masterbatches, which, with different proportions of calcium carbonate and titanium dioxide, offer the possibility of adapting the density, opacity and whiteness of the films to customer requirements. Foils containing ZD products can also be metallised, the supplier said.
