The Japanese conglomerate Toray Industries (Tokyo; www.toray.com) has named Toshiyuki Kondo CEO of its US-based unit Toray Advanced Composites (Morgan Hill, California; www.toraytac.com), effective 15 September 2020. The company said he replaces Keisuke Ishii, who had been CEO since July 2018, when Toray purchased the advanced composites division of TenCate. Ishii is to transition to Toray’s Torayca division, where he will serve as assistant general manager.
Kondo served most recently as the director of the Toray’s advanced composites divisions, the company said, noting that his career with the supplier spans more than 30 years and includes a number of leadership roles that focused on technological development and manufacturing of advanced composite materials along with management of related operations.
