TI AUTOMOTIVE
New Czech blow moulding plant / Manufacturing plastic petrol filler tubes
TI Automotive (Auburn Hills, Michigan / USA; www.tiautomotive.com) has opened a new plant in Liberec / Czech Republic, its fourth in the country. The 6,000 m2 facility will produce plastic petrol filler tubes for Volkswagen, Skoda and Audi as well as petrol systems for Citroen, Peugeot, Toyota and Skoda. Commenting on the new site, Hans Dieltjens, executive vice president Fuel Rank Systems, said that, “Eastern Europe is a fast-growing production hub and Liberec offers us central access to customers in the region.”
Once completed, the new plant will employ 85 workers and turn out 1.1m filler tubes a year by means of extrusion blow moulding. TI Automotive currently operates two production lines in Liberec, but has the option of adding another two if needed. The US group also operates production units in Jablonec and Nisou as well as a plant in Mlada Boleslav. On a global level, TI Automotive is active across 130 sites, with a total workforce of 20,000.
