The two partners, who are currently evaluating the project as part of a feasibility study, estimate the investment sum at up to EUR 24 mn.

The non-fibrous components in cardboard packaging – the polymer and aluminium layers used as a barrier against oxygen and moisture to protect food and beverages – are to be recycled in the new plant from 2025 onwards. Axjo will then use the recyclate to injection mould new products, including cable drums, reels, spools, and storage boxes. The recycling capacity of the new plant is expected to be 10,000 t/y
