German engineering plastics distributor and compounds producer Ter Plastics Polymer (Herne; www.terplastics.com) is now distributing Polyplastics’ (Tokyo / Japan; www.polyplastics.com) “Durafide” polyphenylensulfide (PPS) across Europe. As part of the exclusive partnership, Ter Plastics’ application engineers will work together with Polyplastics’ technical solution centre to provide not only testing facilities but also technical advice and support.

The Durafide range is characterised by what the German group called “excellent mechanical, thermal and electrical properties.” Aside from dimensional stability, its special fibre technology ensures high chemical resistance. Apart from that, the material is inherently flame retardant and can be processed in a wide variety of means.

Polyplastics produces the material at plants in Japan and Malaysia. With demand for its portfolio rising, the company is currently raising capacity at the latter facility (see Plasteurope.com of 28.01.2016).
