TER HELL PLASTIC
New Bio-based PPA for lightweight building
Plastics distributor and compounder Ter Hell Plastic (Herne / Germany; www.terhell.de) has expanded its portfolio of bio-based polyphthalamides (PPA) to include “Terez PPA LW F40 Eco” for the lightweight construction sector, produced from ricinus oil. The company says the compound’s low density of less than 1 g/cm³ results in lower weight, while at the same time guaranteeing high heat resistance and dimensional stability as well as less tendency to warp. Good chemical resistance is also spotlighted. The tensile modulus of elasticity of 7,500 MPa is said to offer solutions for a number of mechanical challenges.
