The European plastic pipe manufacturers association Teppfa (Brussels; www.teppfa.eu) has announced the unanimous election of Sebastian Bondestam to a two-year term as the president of the industry organisation. He succeeds Tom Van Gyseghem.

In 2013, Bondestam became president of the plastic infrastructure pipe division at Finnish pipe maker Uponor (Vantaa; www.uponor.com), where he also serves on the executive committee, and he is currently the board chairman of the Nordic Plastic Pipe Association.

“Today, plastic pipes for building and infrastructure are recognized as a durable, sustainable, and high-performance solution for critical infrastructure and essential services to society” Bondestam said. “In the light of current challenges and opportunities to industrial stakeholders, especially the construction sector from the EU Green Deal, it is crucial for Teppfa to align its activities with the new political and macro-economic environment.”

At the association’s mid-May ordinary general assembly meeting, the first since the pandemic, members also voted in Alice Godderidge as group treasurer. She is CEO of Austrian plastic pipe producer Poloplast (Leonding; www.poloplast.com) and replaces her retiring work colleague Wolfgang Lux at Teppfa.
