African film producer Tempo Paper Pulp & Packaging (Ota, Nigeria; www.tempopackaging.com) has commissioned a new biaxially oriented PP (BOPP) film line with a width of 8.7m and a capacity of 42,000 t/y, according to German machine supplier Brückner (Siegsdorf; www.brueckner-maschinenbau.com).
The processor now has two BOPP lines following the first installation in 2014. “With the new line, we are increasing our annual output from 33,000 t/y to 75,000 t/y,” the company’s boss Seun Obasanjo said.
But that is not the end of the story: according to Obasanjo, the shop is considering the acquisition of another BOPP line and a second line for PP cast film (CPP). His company installed its first CPP equipment with a capacity of 11,000 t/y in November 2022.
