US-based Teknor Apex (Pawtucket, Rhode Island; www.teknorapex.com) said it has appointed compatriot Nexeo Plastics (The Woodlands, Texas; www.nexeoplastics.com) to distribute its portfolio of thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) in Europe.
The deal, which excludes Scandinavia and the Baltic countries, covers Nexeo’s sales of Teknor Apex’s Sarlink and Monprene brands. Sarlink’s thermoplastic vulcanizates are said to be used in sealing applications in cars, heavy industry, consumer goods, and buildings and construction.

Teknor Apex said its Monprene TPEs have a wide hardness range and broad thermal performance, are used in consumer, industrial, and packaging products, and include grades for food-contact applications.
The material supplier noted that the deal would provide Nexeo Plastics customers “with a broad portfolio of TPE technologies, including styrenic block copolymers, thermoplastic vulcanizates and specialty adhesion-modified grades for multi-shot moulding onto a wide variety of engineering resins”.
