The thermoplastic elastomer division of Teknor Apex (Pawtucket, Rhode Island / USA; www.teknorapex.com) has introduced a new series of “Elexar” TPE compounds for wire and cable and moulded products. The compounder says the materials provide a combination of RoHS compliance, UL-V0 flame retardance and high performance in a wide range of end use conditions. The “Elexar” FR series includes six grades, with Shore A hardness ranging from 58 to 85, suitable for operation in temperatures from -50 °C to 125 °C, with high UV resistance and good oil resistance. Teknor Apex says the compounds offer excellent colourability and non-blooming surfaces.
