Packaging manufacturer Tekni-Plex (Wayne, Pennsylvania / USA; www.tekni-plex.com) has announced the acquisition of M-Industries (Ada, Michigan / USA; www.mindustries.com), a container vented lining technology specialist. This is Tekni-Plex’s 16th acquisition in the past five years (see Plasteurope.com of 04.07.2019). Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
M-Industries manufactures complex venting lining solutions for products that need air pressure regulation. Tekni-Plex said the acquired company will operate as part of Tri-Seal, the new parent’s division for closure liners and seals, and M-Industries’ current offices, staff and manufacturing facility in Ada are to remain in place.
Brian Jacobi, Tri-Seal vice-president and general manager for the Americas, said, “The addition of M-Industries increases the global scope of solutions we can provide to customers, including venting expertise and technical packaging, which has great applications in the demanding e-commerce/home delivery channels.”
Tekni-Plex employs a total of 4,000 people at its operations in Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Costa Rica, Germany, India, Italy, Northern Ireland and the US. Last year, the Gallarate / Italy facility of subsidiary Tekni-Plex Gallazzi (www.tekniplex-gallazzi.com) suffered damages to PVC film production plant after a fire broke out during regular maintenance work (see Plasteurope.com of 25.03.2020).
