The first 80 t calender line for film has been installed at Tekni-Plex Gallazzi’s (www.tekniplex-gallazzi.com) plant in Gallarate / Italy, where a fire broke out during maintenance work in spring 2020 (see Plasteurope.com of 02.04.2020). Another machine is scheduled to follow in early 2021.
The machines are replacing the destroyed PVC thin film extrusion lines for adhesive tapes. The company did not respond to a Plasteurope.com enquiry on whether this will involve a change in capacity, which amount the company aims to invest and when the plant is scheduled to be operating at full capacity again.
According to managing director Nino Crisafulli, the clean-up, construction and upgrades in the town centre were completed in record time in the midst of the coronavirus crisis.
