Packaging maker introduces tethered cap for flexible packaging

Ukrainian packaging manufacturer Technologia JSC (Sumy; www.technologia-group.com) said it has launched a tethered cap and lid design that reduces single-use plastics waste by staying attached as part of the tap throughout its lifetime.

The T-Tap Revolver with attached tamper protection for flexible packaging in the beverage sector is designed to comply with the EU Single Use Plastics Directive 2019/904, effective from July 2024, requiring all beverages in plastic containers up to three liters to have caps and lids attached, the company said.

Its new product features a one-piece ring that is deactivated by a spin and stays attached. The tethered ring design acts as an improved opening indicator, the company said. It added that its T-Tap Revolver features a locking function that preserves the product.
