PA-based variants added to “TechnoFiber” range / Replacement alternative for metals
TechnoCompound (Bad Sobernheim / Germany; www.technocompound.com) has extended its range of “TechnoFiber” long glass fibre-reinforced plastic compounds with the addition of a polyamide version. In addition to PA 6 and PA 6.6 as standard, formulations for a wide range of automotive and mechanical engineering applications are now available, the company said.
Due to its mechanical and chemical properties, the material provides a replacement alternative for metals and can be used in applications where common short glass fibre-reinforced PA compounds would be operating close to limits.
The material is supplied as pellets 10 mm in length; however, to make processing on smaller production lines easier, shorter pellets can be supplied on demand. Currently, filling levels of between 40% and 60 % are available.
The company plans to display these new materials, along with its range of established products, at K 2013, 16 to 23 October in Düsseldorf / Germany – see Plasteurope.com of 10.07.2013.
