Agreement to buy Air Liquide's Zimmer Polymer Technologies business / Strengthening downstream activities
In a deal the financial details of which were not disclosed, French engineering group Technip (Paris; www.technip.com) in mid-December said it had entered into an agreement to buy Air Liquide’s (Paris / France; www.airliquide.fr) Zimmer Polymer Technologies business. Based in Frankfurt / Germany, the unit specialises in technologies for processing polyesters and polyamides, and also includes R&D facilities. Its workforce comes to 40.

Zimmer, which last posted sales of EUR 30m, will become part of Technip Stone & Webster Process Technology, the company’s onshore global business unit tasked with managing its downstream process technologies. Pending regulatory approval, the transaction is expected to be wrapped up by year’s end, Technip said.
