TARKETT / PEGULAN
Stora sold to an institutional investor / Purchase price DM 720m
The Tarkett floor-covering group including Tarkett Pegulan AG (D-67209 Frankenthal) has been bought by the Anglo-German investment company, CWB Capital Partners Ltd, London, and Goldman Sachs Investment Bank, New York. As confirmed by a representative of the groups, the negotiations have been finalized with the Swedish owner, Stora AB, Falun. The Stora concern had already announced its intention to sell Tarkett (world-wide turnover in 1992 of DM 1.4bn) as floor-covering did not fit their major product areas of paper and wood. Purchase price has been mentioned as DM 720m. CWB has announced its intention to bring a restructured Tarkett-Pegulan Group based in Frankenthal to the stock market in the near future.
