German packaging manufacturer Südpack (Ochsenhausen; www.suedpack.com) intends to further expand production capacities at its Polish site in Kłobuck, near Częstochowa. The groundbreaking ceremony for the “extensive investment” took place on 15 July 2020, but Südpack did not provide any further details. A new complex to be commissioned at the end of 2021 is being built on the premises of Bahpol, a company primarily specialised in flexographic printing that was acquired in 2015 (see Plasteurope.com of 23.09.2015).

“Expanding our production capacities is essential for us to be able to serve the Eastern European market locally and promptly,” said Südpack managing director Tharcisse Carl. The company will therefore invest in a flexographic printing machine, slitter rewinder and laminating line. The commercial manager of Südpack Kłobuck is Sławomir Słomian.

Recently, Südpack signed an agreement for a joint venture with Indian packaging manufacturer Kamakshi Flexiprints (Ahmedabad, Gujarat; www.kamakshiflexiprints.com – see Plasteurope.com of 15.07.2020). In addition to sites in Germany, Poland and India, the manufacturer of coextruded, flexible and rigid films, laminated films and vacuum bags has production facilities in France, Switzerland and the US.
