SWISS PLASTICS
Plastics trade fair in Lucerne at the end of January 2017 / New concept
The fifth "Swiss Plastics Expo" (www.swissplastics-expo.ch) is being held in Lucerne / Switzerland from 24 to 26 January 2017. A number of innovations await visitors this time round.
The new trade fair concept is centred on "showcases" – depicting specific, innovative sample applications to illustrate the competences of the individual exhibitors. "Professional visitors can take a look at the innovations at the fair and then solve their own problems by adapting the approaches adopted", explains trade fair director René Ziswiler. Exhibitors are not only presenting their showcases at the fair itself but have also posted them on the Swiss Plastics Expo website already. Visitors can thus look through the showcases beforehand, employing a range of search criteria, and find the exhibitors that interest them.
Presentations dealing with current areas of innovation will additionally provide a structural framework for the exhibits at the fair. The papers, discussion rounds and specific application examples featuring at the "Innovation Symposium" will highlight the potential of functional integration, innovative materials and surfaces, simulation, additive manufacturing and lightweight construction.
The new "Swiss Plastics Platform" is also being officially launched at the fair on 25 January 2017. Intended as a "digital meeting point" for the Swiss plastics industry, this presents "numerous suppliers and their showcases, a wide range of technologies and events, training and continuing education options, and also news, 365 days a year", reports Lucerne.
