Poland’s Suwary (Pabianice; www.suwary.com.pl) – a manufacturer of plastic packaging (canisters, PET bottles) and automotive accessories (warning triangles, fire extinguishers, first-aid kits) – recently commissioned a new packaging plant in Lodz’s special economic zone. Plans for the 7,000 m² facility date back to 2010. The company invested about EUR 7m in the production and storage hall in Ksawerów – for previous coverage, see Plasteurope.com of 06.12.2010.
Suwary hopes the new production units will help it raise its sales to PLN 110m (EUR 26.5m) in 2014, up 13% year-on-year. The company, which is majority-owned by Canadian packager Wentworth (Hamilton; www.wtbvc.com), generates about three-quarters of its sales with packaging goods.
