On 1 April, Gerd Liebig will return to Sumitomo (SHI) Demag Plastics Machinery (Schwaig / Germany; www.sumitomo-shi-demag.eu) in a new capacity as group chief sales officer. In this position he will be responsible for the company’s global sales, after-sales and marketing activities, working together with Tetsuya Okamura (CEO Demag and senior vice president of parent company Sumitomo Heavy Industries) and CTO Andreas Schramm. Liebig will also head the company’s global sales subsidiaries and other representatives.

The appointment constitutes a return for Liebig, who spent the last eight years working as marketing director at competitor Engel Austria (Schwertberg / Austria; www.engelglobal.com). Before that, he had spent 15 years at the Demag Plastics Group, which today operates as Sumitomo (SHI) Demag Plastics Machinery.
