The game of musical chairs for the lead position at Swiss masterbatch and additives producer Sukano (Schindellegi; www.sukano.com) appears to have come to an end. In June 2015, the company announced that then-CEO Michael de Braaf – who only took on the position in September 2014 (see Plasteurope.com of 16.09.2014) – would be leaving the company “with immediate effect.” At the time, board chairman Martin Schmutz said a successor had already been found and would be named “in due time.”
Now Sukano has announced that Thomas Bernhardt will take over as CEO and management chairman on 1 October. He will succeed Wolfgang Schadt, who led the company on an interim basis following de Braaf’s departure. Bernhardt previously held a number of senior management positions at Hoechst, Clariant and most recently at Archroma.
