STYRON
“Calibre” 1060 optical PC grade now available worldwide
Styron (Midland, Michigan / USA; www.styron.com) has discontinued its “Calibre” 1080 DVD PC resin following the worldwide introduction of its successor, “Calibre” 1060 DVD. The new material has been developed for all optical disc applications, including CD, DVD and Blu-Ray, and offers high quality and processing characteristics with improved ductility and toughness, the manufacturer said.
High-flow capabilities allow fast, reproducible cycle times and good pit replication, resulting in improved yields for disc replicators even in Blu-Ray disc format, Styron said. The resin also offers high mould release performance and pit reproducibility with low birefringence.
