Styrenics supplier announces changes to its organisational structure / Appointment of three new members to management board
On 1 February 2013, German styrenics supplier Styrolution (Frankfurt; www.styrolution.com) will introduce a new global business unit for feedstock styrene monomer. The group's regional business units will now focus exclusively on strengthening its market position in polymers.
According to Plasteurope.com's Polyglobe capacity database (www.polyglobe.net), Styrolution has a global SM capacity of about 2.2m t/y, making it one of the world's top three players in the field of styrenics. The joint venture between Ineos (Rolle / Switzerland; www.ineos.com) and BASF (Ludwigshafen / Germany; www.basf.com) can turn out nearly 3m t/y of PS and styrene copolymer, making it the wordwide leader in that field.
The company also announced three new appointments to its management board: Steve Harrington, who most recently led Styrolution's styrene monomer business in the Americas, will become president of the global styrene monomer business unit on 1 February 2013.
KevinMcQuade has been appointed president Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) effective 1 March 2013. Currently, he serves as president Americas – a position that will be assumed by Alexander Glueck on 1 June 2013. Glueck, who has worked several years for BASF, currently serves as Styrolution's senior vice president global strategy, R&D and procurement.
The three appointees will collaborate with the management board's existing members Roberto Gualdoni (CEO), Christoph de la Camp (CFO) and Hyung Tae Chang (president Asia Pacific).
