STOROPACK
Launching of Indian subsidiary in Pune
German protective packaging specialist Storopack (Metzingen; www.storopack.com) has recently opened a location in Pune / India. Since August, a five-man team headed by Dipin Kalra is initially offering "Airplus" foil cushions and "Paperplus" paper cushions. The family-owned company's "Foamplus" foam cushion products as well as other system integration services will be added later. The 210 m2 Indian subsidiary in the state of Maharashtra in western India, not only provides space for offices, but a workshop for equipment maintenance and repair as well as a product showroom.
The launching is consistent with the company's strategy to have a strong foothold in the developing markets of the region. The southwestern German company's most immediate goal involves securing five distributors for the most important economic region as well as for the Indian market by the end of 2013. "The move is another milestone for our company. The Indian economy is at a turning point and Storopack India is being launched at a strategically favourable time," explained Frank Imkamp, head of Storopack Asia.
