US trade association Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE, Bethel, Connecticut; www.4spe.org) has announced that Russell Broome will step down as managing director. He will continue working with the SPE until the end of August 2017. SPE CEO Patrick Farrey says, "Through his role, he successfully established the Next Generation Advisory Board, a group that plans and sponsors activities which teach the next generation of plastics professionals practical life skills which allow them to be more successful both in their work and personal lives."

Broome has been a member of the SPE for 25 years, including a term as president from 2011 - 2012, and managing director since 2014 (see Plasteurope.com of 29.09.2014).
