Extrudable TPE introduced for drinking water applications
Global independent compounder SO.F.TER (Forli / Italy; www.softergroup.com) has introduced a TPE for extrusion suitable for contact with drinking water according to Water Regulations Advisory Scheme (WRAS) regulations. “Laprene” 830.556 is a plasticiser-free compound offering high transparency and flexibility with a smooth surface. It is also suitable for adhesion on PP. The company said it provides a high antibacterial protection, inhibiting the growth of biofilms and bacteria.
The material is also available in an injection moulding version that has passed WRAS (BS 6920) tests and be used for the production of flexible tubes for dishwasher or water dispensers and in the plumbing sector.
