Collaboration with Indian PET recycler Ganesha
India’s Ganesha Ecopet, part of the Ganesha Group (Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India; www.ganeshaecosphere.com) – a post-consumer PET recycling company with a capacity of 150,000 mn t/y – has joined hands with Italian recycling specialist Sorema (Como; www.sorema.it) on PET recycling. Since 2023, Sorema operates in partnership with Ambienta (Milan, Italy; www.ambientasgr.com).

In 2022, Ganesha Ecopet had entrusted Sorema with a PET bottle-to-bottle reclaim plant in India, with a production capacity of 43.8 t/y of food-grade rPET. The process involves using 100% locally collected PET bottles, a washing system by Sorema, and an extrusion and solid stating section by Starlinger.

Ganesha Ecopet offers sustainable packaging and textile solutions that are FDA and EFSA approved as well as recycled PET resins, catering to the FMCG and textile industries.
