Rob Tiede to become CEO of packaging manufacturer

In April 2018, Rob Tiede, currently COO at the manufacturer of consumer and industrial packaging Sonoco (Hartsville, South Carolina / USA; www.sonoco.com), will replace president and CEO Jack Sanders. The company’s supervisory board appointed Tiede to succeed Sanders, who is retiring after working 30 years with the company. The newly elected CEO will join the board of directors upon Sanders’ retirement.
Tiede joined Sonoco in 2004 through the acquisition of CorrFlex Graphics, and has been responsible for the industrial, consumer and protective packaging divisions since 2015. He also holds the position of chairman of the Flexible Packaging Association (Annapolis, Maryland / USA; www.flexpack.org).
Sonoco is a provider of a variety of consumer packaging, industrial products, protective packaging and displays and packaging supply chain services for the global market. The company’s annual net sales are approximately USD 4.8 bn and it employs a workforce of 20,000 in 34 countries.
