SONGWON
Thermal stabiliser developed for automotive industry
South Korea-based chemicals producer Songwon (Ulsan; www.songwonind.com) has introduced “Songxtend” 2124, a stabiliser developed to meet the demands of the automotive industry, where weight and cost reduction are significant factors.

The company said the product improves long-term thermal stability of the short- and long-glass fibre reinforced PP used in interior applications for moulded parts, to over 1,000 h at 150 °C. The stabiliser allows moulded parts to be thinner and lighter while retaining similar mechanical properties as unfilled parts.
