A year after first introducing its “Songnox” PQ stabiliser, Songwon Industrial Group (Ulsan / South Korea; www.songwonind.com) has extended the product range to meet rising customer demand. The new additions are Songnox PQ SB, a semi-bead that facilitates dosing and handling, as well as Songnox 1162 FF triple blend, suitable for biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) applications and indirect food contact.

The new grades were developed after Songwon’s purchase of SeQuent Scientific’s (Bangalore / India; www.sequent.in) speciality business last year (see Plasteurope.com of 08.08.2014). The South Korean company now claims to offer the broadest solid phosphite product range in the industry.

Songnox PQ is said to be suitable for a wide range of applications, including thin-wall injection moulding PP and BOPP, cast LLDPE or mLLDPE film, polyolefin elastomers, polyolefin hot melt adhesives, as well as PA, PC, polyester and powder coatings.
