By means of its distributor United Trading System (UTS, St. Petersburg / Russia; www.utsrus.com), Songwon Industrial (Ulsan / South Korea; www.songwonind.com) has signed a long-term cooperation agreement to supply Sibur (Moscow / Russia; www.sibur.com) with additives for PP, PE, rubber, thermoplastic rubber and PVC. Fixed until the end of 2015, the deal will also see Songwon give Sibur technical support for stabilisers in end-use applications.

Under the agreement, the two companies also undertook to jointly develop and implement projects aimed at improving polymer properties, including by drawing on the expertise offered by the South Korean company’s R&D centre.

Commenting on the agreement, Songwon International executive vice president Dieter Morath said it will “provide our customer Sibur with products that help improve the quality of their end products and protect polymers from temperature, mechanical stress, UV radiation and other exposures.”
