OPS additives expansion completed in Germany / Plans to add global capacity
Polymer additives producer Songwon Industrial (Ulsan / South Korea; www.songwonind.com) has completed the expansion of its “Songnox” one pack systems (OPS) facility in Greiz / Germany. The production capacity of the OPS products, which combine several additives into an integrated, dust-free pellet form, has been doubled to 14,000 t/y – see Plasteurope.com of 20.04.2012.

Songwon said the expansion, which follows the acquisition of Additives Technology Greiz last year (see Plasteurope.com of 14.12.2011), is part of plans to expand the global presence of its OPS business.

“The market for OPS products has been enjoying consistent growth as compounders and polymer producers continuously search for added value and more efficient production technology,” said Songwon COO Maurizio Butti. “This additional production capacity will strengthen Songwon’s position as one of the leading producers of OPS products in Europe and ensures that we have enough capacity to meet the long-term demand of our growing markets."
