Thioester joint venture with Tangshan Baifu Chemical is formalised

Korean polymer additives manufacturer Songwon Industrial (Ulsan; www.songwonind.com) and Tangshan Baifu Chemical (Tangshan / China) have formalised their joint venture, which was initially announced in 2010 – see Plasteurope.com of 03.11.2010. The new company is called Songwon Baifu Chemicals (Tangshan) has a production capacity of 8000 t/y of thioester antioxidants and commenced operations on 1 July 2012.
Thioesters such as DLTDP, DSTDP, DTDTP and DMTDP, marketed and sold as “Songnox” thioester antioxidants, are widely used in PE, PP, ABS, HIPS, polyester and PA, as well as other materials.
