Recycled PPS products receive mass balance certification
Solvay (Brussels; www.solvay.com) said it has secured ISCC Plus2 certification for its US production of recyclate-based polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) in Borger, Texas, and its Ryton brand PPS Echo compounds made in Kallo-Beveren, Belgium.

The chemical group noted that the biocircular products offer the same technical qualities as comparable virgin PPS resins, with no need for re-validation, making them attractive to manufacturers transitioning to more sustainable and eco-responsible materials, which supports their efforts to reduce Scope 3 emissions.

Ryton PPS compounds are used in automotive and E&E applications, including appliances with high thermal and mechanical performance requirements, where the producer says they can reduce fuel consumption and costs while improving system integration.
