HPPA grades added to high performance PA range / Metal substitution applications targeted
Belgian chemicals and plastics producer Solvay (Brussels; www.solvay.com) has introduced “Omnix” LF-4050 and LF-4060 high-performance polyamides (HPPA) with a long fibre glass content of 50% and 60%, respectively.
The materials have been developed for a range of applications with permanent load or operating conditions where metal is commonly used, including in transportation, household appliances, sports and leisure, the automotive industry and mechanical and industrial engineering.
The company said that Omnix HPPA can be used where the high temperature or hydrolytic stability performance limits of PA 6.6 are reached. The grades overcome these limitations, it said.
