Carmelo Lo Faro new president of Composite Materials business
Solvay (Brussels / Belgium; www.solvay.com) has appointed Carmelo Lo Faro as president of the Composite Materials Global business unit, succeeding Bill Wood who will retire following the successful integration of composites specialist Cytec Industries (Tempe, Arizona / USA; www.cytec.com).
Lo Faro, who will take on his new position on 1 April 2017, brings with him almost 20 years of experience in the composite materials business, in both the aerospace and the industrial segments. He joined Solvay in December 2015 following the acquisition of Cytec, where he was Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and a member of the executive leadership team.
