Jorge Oliveira takes over responsibility for group operations in Spain and Portugal
Jorge Oliveira has become Solvay’s (Brussels / Belgium; www.solvay.com) new director general for the Iberian Peninsula, responsible for the group’s activities in Spain and Portugal. In addition, he will remain the director of the company’s soda ash plant in Torrelavega / Spain.
Oliveira first joined Solvay in 1986 and has held a number of key management positions since, including CEO of Solvay UK. The Belgian group operates several plants in Portugal and Spain, producing PVC, PA 6.6 and caustic soda, among others. The company’s PVC activities in Martorell / Spain became part of its Inovyn 50:50 joint venture with Ineos on 1 July last year (see Plasteurope.com of 03.07.2015).
