SOLVAY
Agreement with Fibroline to produce PVC composites
Solvay (Brussels / Belgium; www.solvay.com) has signed an agreement with French company Fibroline (Ecully; www.fibroline.com) to use Fibroline’s technology to produce fibre reinforced materials impregnated with PVC. The Fibroline technology enables the impregnation of powder form materials into porous structures in the form of textiles, papers, foams and composite materials.

Solvay subsidiary Solvin (Brussels; www.solvinpvc.com) has developed special PVC formulations that can be combined with the powder distribution properties obtained using the Fibroline technology to produce high performances composite materials named “FibroVin”.

Fibroline said the partners plan to extend the range of PVC composite materials, initially focused on glass fibre composites for the building industry, to other fibres and sectors.
