SOLVAY SPECIALTY POLYMERS
Recyclable high-barrier polyester launched in partnership with machinery producer Husky
Solvay Specialty Polymers (Alpharetta, Georgia / USA; www.solvayspecialtypolymers.com) and Canadian equipment manufacturer Husky Injection Molding Systems (Bolton, Ontario; www.husky.ca) have launched a new range of high-performance recyclable polymers for packaging applications. The companies said that the “Verian” high-barrier polyester (HBP) line would enable a new generation of sustainable packaging options for PET bottles and films.
“We are excited about our partnership with Solvay and the potential that Verian HBP presents in minimising the impact PET packaging has on the environment,” said John Galt, Husky’s president and CEO. “We believe this development will open new growth opportunities for the next generation of high-performance engineered PET packages, while ensuring compatibility with existing recycling streams.”
