Resin manufacturer Socar Polymer (Sumgayit / Azerbaijan; www.socarpolymer.az) has launched two random copolymers for rigid packaging produced by thin-walled injection moulding (TWIM). The “RB 4545 MO” has a melt flow index (MFI) of 45, and the MFI for “RB 6545 MO” is 65, the company said.
According to Milliken (Spartanburg / UK; www.milliken.com), whose “Millad NX8000” family of clarifiers supports the resins’ key properties, these viscosity levels cover the majority of TWIM items made from random copolymers. Socar said the flowability of these grades makes them ideal for high-transparency TWIM packaging applications such as caps, closures, containers and housewares.
