French group now distributing Westlake's polyolefins in Germany and UK

Since the start of 2019, French distribution group Snetor (Courbevoie; www.snetor.com) also has a presence in the UK and in Germany with its Frankfurt-based subsidiary Snetor Germany. As a first step of the planned expansion, the company led by managing director Florian Brandes announced that it has taken over the distribution rights for polyolefins made by Westlake Chemical (Houston, Texas / USA; www.westlake.com) for Germany. The group distributes the US supplier’s LDPE, LLDPE and EVA materials in German-speaking Europe as well as in Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain and the UK.
Snetor trades plastics and chemicals across the globe. The group, founded in 1981, generated turnover of around EUR 1.3 bn in 2018 and has more than 200 employees. Snetor’s distribution in Europe has been expanding since 2014. Before setting up its German subsidiary, the group had established branches in Romania, Serbia, Spain and the UK.
