Petrochemicals consolidated into subsidiary / Polypropylene production now at 225,000 t/y
Slovnaft (Bratislava / Slovakia; www.slovnaft.sk) has established a subsidiary company to handle its petrochemicals activities. The core business of Slovnaft Petrochemicals will be in the production and sales of a wide range of polyethylene and polypropylene resins. Slovnaft, which is owned by Hungary´s MOL, said that the increasing importance of petrochemicals in its portfolio had led to the formation of the new subsidiary to consolidate its interests in the sector. The company will be responsible for the annual production of 225,000 t of polypropylene following the start-up of its PP3 unit last year.
