During the K 2022 fair in Dusseldorf, Germany (www.k-online.de), US-based SI Group (Schenectady, New York; www.siigroup.com) announced the launch of its Evercycle additives for plastics recycling. The products are said to support a more circular economy based on resource conservation and enhanced recycling and innovative technologies.

For PET recycling and converting, the additives target process stability, colour control, and reduced acetaldehyde levels. For polyolefin reclaim, the materials secure process stabilisation, performance enhancement, and enable increased recycled content, the supplier said.

Evercycle PET-102D and PET-103D are designed for colour control in PET bottles, trays, and fibres, in pellet and liquid form, respectively. Evercycle PP-101S is for stabilisation of HDPE and PP packaging, while Evercycle LD-101S targets LDPE packaging.

The additives are expected to support consumer brands looking to increase recycled content and enable multiple uses of their products to boost sustainability.
