Purchase of PU foam systems producer Belineco in Belarus
Sika (Baar / Switzerland; www.sika.com) has agreed to acquire Belarus-based PU foam systems manufacturer Belineco (Brest; www.belineco.com). The Swiss group said the acquisition will enable it to expand its know-how in the production and development of PU foams and gain better access to trade distribution in Eastern Europe. The transaction is subject to anti-trust approvals.

Sika said Belineco complements its recently acquired Switzerland-based Polypag PU foam business – see Plasteurope.com of 08.08.2018. Belineco produces PU foams at its facility near Brest, and the foams are sold via distribution channels in Eastern European markets. The company has annual sales of about CHF 23m (EUR 20m).
Sika stated, the acquisition "will open up cross-selling opportunities for the combined portfolio through these channels as well as for Belineco foams in Sika's roofing and facade systems.” Ivo Schädler, regional manager for EMEA at Sika, said, "The acquisition of Belineco will strengthen our sealing & bonding business in Eastern Europe and open up exciting, new cross-selling opportunities.”
