Kautex and Blowtec sold to private equity investor / SIG Pack acquired by Bosch
As part of a strategic reorientation to concentrate on the beverage sector, Switzerland´s SIG Holding (CH-8212 Neuhausen; www.sig.biz) has sold its two German blow-moulding subsidiaries SIG Kautex (D-53229 Bonn; www.sigkautex.com) and SIG Blowtec (D-53482 Troisdorf; www.sigblowtec.de) for an undisclosed sum to German financial investor Adcuram Beteiligungs AG (D-80333 Munich; www.adcuram.de). SIG acquired the companies from the Krupp group in 2000 as part of a package and had planned to sell them. Adcuram specialises in acquiring segments of large companies and turning them into stand-alone medium-sized firms.
Dutch-based machinery manufacturer Robert Bosch Verpakkingmachines meanwhile has agreed to acquire machinery manufacturer SIG Pack (www.sigpack.com),subject to approval by cartel authorities. Through the acquisition, the Bosch group (D-71332 Waiblingen; www.boschpackaging.com) will be able to strategically expand its “Packaging Technology” business, which had sales of EUR 360m in 2003. SIG Pack employs 1,540 people and has annual sales of EUR 230m. The company is specialised in production machinery for the food and confectionery industries.
