French blow moulding machine and packaging solutions supplier Sidel (Octeville-sur-Mer; www.sidel.com) has launched PressureSafe, a container made of PET designed to replace aluminium aerosol products for perfumes and deodorants and offer a “more environmentally sustainable dispensing spray packaging”. The container is said to be suitable for traditional PET recycling streams.

The bottle offers resistance to pressure “to maintain a safe structure, protect against leakages, breakages, and roll-out during transportation and storage”.

Sidel said the product is fully compliant with regulations and material specifications set by the European Aerosol Federation (FEA, Brussels; www.aerosol.org) and the Plastic Aerosols Research Group.
